Four women entrepreneurs from Junior Chamber International (JCI) have recently graduated from City Alo Certification Program for women entrepreneurs which is organized with the aim of providing women entrepreneurs a competitive edge in the complex business world. The three women entrepreneurs from JCI are Ms. Rabeya Nasir Ovi, owner of Foodie Bird (food business) and Jinnah Traders (which is engaged in selling electronic items),
Ms. Samia Rahman who is the owner of Deshishojja (a food business) & Kroybaz (a fashion boutique) and Ms. Sharmin Hossain (who runs an e-commerce platform), MST. Alifa Afroze. The aspiring women entrepreneurs were awarded crests & certificates as recognition after attending 11 online classes, each consisting of 3 hours and covering different aspects of the business world.
City Bank and JCI has partnered together for a special partnership where both the organizations will work together for ensuring women’s empowerment through organizing various workshops, seminars, and training programs. The certificate giving ceremony of the sixth batch of the City Alo Certification program was held at City Bank Center recently where a total of 30 participants from diversified fields of business were awarded certificates and crests in the program.
Ms. Maliha M. Quadir, Founding Managing Director & CEO of Shohoz Limited graced the grand closing ceremony as the special guest. The honorable guests from North South University were Professor Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of North South University, and Professor Sharif Nurul Ahkam, Director, Office of Graduate Studies, North South University. Distinguished guests from City Bank who were present during the Certification Ceremony were Mr. Mashrur Arefin, Managing Director & CEO, City Bank, Head of Retail Banking Mr. Md. Arup Haider & Head of Small Business Mr. Kamrul Mehedi.
